The history of Rotary watches

Rotary watches have become a firm favourite of the British public for nearly 100 years, with many of the British public owning a Rotary watch at some point in time in there life. Rotary have created an image and awareness in the British and world market that is unsurpassed.

Rotary watches began life back in 1895 in a small town in Switzerland Le Chaud-de-fonds, by Moise Dreyfuss. The first Rotary watch was created soon after and this was the beginning of Rotary watches. Moise employed his 2 brothers in the company and they soon saw the opportunity to exporting the company’s watches to foreign markets, the first market would be the UK this would be the beginning of a strong relation ship between the UK and Rotary watches.

Rotary would open their first offices in the UK in the 1920’s to deal with the popularity of Rotary watches in the UK. This would be coupled with the launch of the Rotary company logo which would live on to this day.

Rotary pulled of a coo that would see their name go down in British history when in 1940 they became the watch given to the British army. This would place Rotary watches into every house in the Britain.

Rotary watches would build on this success creating watches that the consumer wanted at a price that was right. Rotary would traverse social boundaries and age groups, now in the 00’s Rotary launched new brands to compliment their strong Rotary watches. The Rotary Roks and Dreyfuss range of watches have been added in the last 2 years to bring new clientel to Rotary. Rotary have also added their dolphin standard which all of their watches a minimum of 50meters water resistant with screw down crowns.
